    Artist Arlin Robins

Arlin Robins, earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Attending college in a world class museum was a daily exercise in wonder.

It enabled Arlin to spend hours contemplating the aesthetics and techniques of artists from a variety of cultures.

Especially moved by the works of the Impressionists and the graceful style of Art Neauveau, Arlin absorbed all that was offered. The museum gave her the opportunity for in-depth study of the Northern European Renaissance artists and Pre-Raphaelites, as well as a large collection from ancient China and south Asia.

Arlin moved from her native Chicago to northern California in 1979. There she sold her first jewelry designs. She began creating a line of crystal and pewter fantasy miniatures for Crystal Treasures in 1981.

Ms Robins soon gained a reputation for the exquisite quality of her detail work.
Recommended by her foundry to jewelry manufacturers, she created originals for a number of designer lines, and her pieces were shown at Neiman Marcus, Gump’s, Macy’s, and designer boutiques. She was also commissioned to design several prestigious awards including a gold racehorse trophy.

Since then, Arlin Robins has produced a collection of small sculptures honoring the thoroughbred horse, a series of works on mythological subjects, figurative fountains and sculpture of wildlife subjects. She often combines several of these themes into a single piece. Her medium of choice is bronze, using the lost wax casting method.

“I create art to touch the heart, to express joy, wonder or anticipation, or capture a timeless moment. My ambition is to accomplish this in a graceful form. And working with the classic strength and beauty of bronze is immensely satisfying.”

Over the last 3 decades, Arlin has shown her work in galleries, exhibits and festivals. She has won the Chesley Fantasy sculpture award, numerous show ribbons and has been featured in publications and on television. Her mermaids -- Sea Dreams and Wave Borne -- and dolphins -- Wave Dancers -- grace the entrance of the Mirage Resort/Casino in Las Vegas, and she has been commissioned to create other architectural features in the U.S. and abroad.

You can see her work online through her exclusive agent, Mark Steven Corrinet of Southern Cross Art.
